Here's another experiment that has serious potential. 6 x Stereo AUX's, 8 Busses & 8 stereo record outs. Attachment:

even looks ecologically-correct.
Should be called 'Mr. Greeny'.

Are there direct outs? I'd opt for this, over the 1632...

It's a BUS only mixer. It's a specific use mixer to emulate a mid sized hardware console. It will be for VDAT playback and ASIO and then SpaceF's for the advanced MIDI controls for synths. I have always wanted a mixer just for AUX mixing of ASIO and VDAT, and then another mixer for special MIDI controls and synths. I have 16 I/O's of an A16 Ultra and the 8 BUS for ASIO and 8 BUS for synths will be perfect. I was trying to get the DAS MM for IEM's optimized but it seems like a lost cause as that mixer has the same troubles as Wolf's Mixers. It will load but I cannot activate all of the Channels. But Eric from DAS was such a gentlemen and obviously wanted to make me happy so he asked me what I would like and built it as a replacement. Once again we are spoiled by the 3rd party developers and this platform. I get a kick out of guys who are always whining about S|C, etc. I guess they never used an RME and tried to get help or sipport, much less constant freebies like the 18 Stage Phaser we recently were blessed with. No sir, if VST would load a preset like Modular instead of an '80's hardware FDD sampler, or some of our effects I could have saved some money, but VST is strictly for Indoor use. DSP is for performing and with all of the great devices from 3rd party, SDK and S|C, what more can a guy ask for ? wait .....................Don't tell me................64bit Mac OSX, Linux and the Space Bar for VDAT.. yadda, yadda, yadda.

Yeah, I'm looking at this as an internal ASIO mixer and the FP's for tracking similar to how I currently use the 1632.
The 4896 is not bad for mixing. 1632 is not yet DSP optimized (according to Holger), and is falling by the wayside.
Great thing about Scope/Xite is that we can use multiple instances of these mixers (depending on how well they optimize the DSP), so the possibilities are nearly endless.

MY 1632 works fine but I just mixed the old hardware AUX way for so many years I can't mix w/o them. I know we have AUX 's in the STM's but they aren't stereo and the sound of the STM's for AUX'ing just ain't there. When you have SpaceF AUX's and then 6 true stereo like the 32 x 8 mixing AUX style w/ BUS's and groups ot speaks for itself. I am always BUS'ing AUX'ing and ganging faders. I am not sure if Eric is going to sell some of these but I know he's an old hardware guy from way back when and knows consoles, he metioned how he was going to be getting an XITE-1 and build a bug mixer for old style gigging. I had this old FOH who was really very good and never missed a single mic cue in the 4 years I worked with him,and he still managed to use a pencil and a TEAC Tape deck for some really hreat tape delay effects. He wouldn't go near the Space Echo or Ursa Major unless the bandleader wanted it. Some old boys just are set in their ways I spose. This mixer is really great for a 10 stereo BUS project with SpaceF's MB4-II and it's X Channels...they act as inputs for the external stereo AUX signals.......
